COLUMBIA, SC- Santa Cruz (#6) and Columbia QuadSquad (#8) were both hoping to be playing for a higher ranking than #7, but neither showed up with baggage or disappointment in their faces. From the first whistle, both teams played a hard and fast game. Santa Cruz defeated the home team for 7th Place, 174-141.

COLUMBIA, SC – Rainy City prevailed in a highly physical and defensive game which included scoreless stretches for each team. The #7 seed Rainy City earned the first upset of the tournament, besting #6 Santa Cruz 166-104.

COLUMBIA, NC – Staying true to seeding, the #6 Santa Cruz Boardwalk Bombshells scratched #9 Ann Arbor’s Brawl Stars off the consolation bracket in order to advance to Game 10 against Rainy City Roller Derby later today at 4pm EDT. Ann Arbor Derby Dimes came in ranked 34th in the WFTDA with Santa Cruz  at 23rd. Twelve scoreless jams in the first half really put the brakes to the Brawl Stars’ momentum, allowing a win for Santa Cruz 216 to 107 in the early morning game for Day 2.

COLUMBIA, MO – It’s been two years since the Denver Mile High Club flew in to take on the Santa Cruz Derby Girls and much has changed since the last exchange. Santa Cruz came into the Division 1 tournament ranked at 23rd to Denver’s ranking at 10th. Game 3 started off slow and steady as the captain turned off the fastened seatbelt sign allowing Denver to skate about the flat track cabin, staying true to seeding order, beating Santa Cruz 314 to 127.
