WICHITA, KS – To get to the 3rd place game of the first WFTDA Playoff of the 2016 tournament season, both the #1 seed Jet City Bombers and #3 seed Nashville Music City All Stars pulled off last minute wins on Friday and then fell to lower seeds on Saturday. Jet City proved they had plenty of fight in them for 60 minutes of play while Nashville has had a slow start to a lot of their games this season.

In the second half it seemed as if the #46 ranked Music City All Stars were mounting their usual comeback, but the #42 Bomber’s ability to get lead status kept them ahead from start to finish, taking the bronze medal with a 132-118 win against Nashville.

WICHITA, KS – In an amazing turn of events for breaking recent Divisional 2 Playoff seeding, #7 Blue Ridge Rollergirls took to the international stage, first beating their rival neighbors #10 Carolina Roller Girls, but also upsetting #2 Houston’s All Stars just to hear the music play with #3 Nashville Roller Girls. Nashville comes in at 44th in WFTDA standings while Blue Ridge sits at 55th, sparing enough space for ranking exchanges.

Much like the momentum flow of the defensive push and pull, these two teams exchanged energy between offense and defense at such a pace that even the Twitterverse had to comment. Blue Ridge was able to establish a comfortable lead very early in the first half, forcing Nashville to chip away at the lead, sometimes getting the contest as low as 20-point spread.  Blue Ridge managed to keep the pace steady throughout with a 178 to 133 victory over Nashville.

WICHITA, KS – Game 3 of the WFTDA Division 2 International Playoffs saw the sixth seed, Tucson Saddletramps (#51 WFTDA) take on the number three seed, Nashville’s Music City All Stars (#46).

Despite the long history of both of these leagues, they have never met on the track before. Tucson has made playoffs only twice in the last six years, while Nashville has been a competitor in playoffs since 2009’s Southern Fried Smackdown.
