JACKSONVILLE, FL-London and Jacksonville met at WFTDA Playoffs in Evansville last year, but that time it was a semi-final fight for the 1st place game, whereas this time they were taking each other on in the final game of the weekend. This comes after both teams have had impressive records in the year since then. London took a couple losses at Champs, but has been undefeated since then. Jacksonville got shut out of Champs last year after their loss to Texas, but has won every sanctioned game since then except against Angel City.

Ranked #2 on Flat Track Stats, London took hold of the game in Jam 2 and never looked back, beating the host league 272-126. Jacksonville often matched London’s heavy defense, but ultimately couldn’t consistently match Brawling’s big jams to close the point spread.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Game 15 between the #5 seed Tampa Roller Derby and #6 seed Detroit Derby Girls saw evenly matched talent, strength, and penalty tallies. Where both teams separated however, was in the score. Tampa flexed their muscles early on in the first half, breaking Detroit’s wall by picking it apart with the effort of everybody on the track. Detroit, able to hold their own, trickled behind in points and tried matching Tampa’s heavy artillery by physically matching block to block and bridging tightly while allowing star stashes and star passes to deter Tampa’s momentum.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The WFTDA-ranked #9 Jacksonville Rollergirls have been building momentum the past few years, and it all culminated in their upset against WFTDA #5 Denver Roller Derby in front of Jacksonville’s home crowd on Day 2 of playoffs.

After a rocky start, Jacksonville swung into the lead, and held it for the rest of the game, even while Denver kept finding a bit of momentum to try and steal it back. New Jax City outlasted them however, despite having more jammer penalties, and earned their first trip to WFTDA Championships with their win over the Mile High Club, 193-163, while Denver will have to play on to earn theirs.
