WFTDA playoffs begin with Division 2 in Cleveland, Ohio. Teams ranked 41-60 get invites to D2 playoffs, and are split into two brackets. The top two finishing teams this weekend will head to Championships in St. Paul, Minnesota November 6th-8th to take on the top two finishers from Detroit’s D2 bracket.

CLEVELAND, OH — Prior to the weekend, #7 St. Chux (#54) and #10 Brandywine (#62) had never played each other historically. Following SCDC’s 216-215 come-from-behind victory in the playoff’s fifth place game, and the pair’s second meeting during the tourney that was decided by single-digits, one can only look forward to a continuation of the newfound rivalry next season.

CLEVELAND, OH— Heavy holding walls in tandem with recycling worked in favor of both teams in this game, as Brandywine took firm hold of a first half lead over Oklahoma to really tear away and use their defensive holds and persistent jammer leads to full advantage in the second. Brandywine came away with the game in hand, 220-128.

CLEVELAND,OH – Saturday morning’s first bout saw Brandywine revisit the track to take on Treasure Valley after last night’s 9-point loss to St. Chux. What started as another closely matched contest ramped up into a widening lead for Brandywine after a very physical and penalty-heavy second half, sealing their victory, 216-157, and opening up the chance for the #10 seed to depart this tournament with a potential 5th or 6th place finish.

CLEVELAND, OH — The launch of the WFTDA post-season got off to a flying start Friday morning and a topsy-turvy battle in the opening Division 2 quarterfinal qualifier saw #7 St. Chux outlast #10 Brandywine 205-196.

With the nine-point win, St. Chux enters the quarterfinal bracket later today to face second-seeded Kansas City at 4pm EDT.
