For some teams, qualifying for Playoffs is the ultimate goal and, for those wanting to go further, a good bracket position is key on their journey to the Hydra. Ten teams get sent to Playoffs, but some have a harder route to 1st place than others. Team United (or Des Moines United as their Facebook page now says) is not only headed to their first WFTDA Playoffs, but they are doing so as a 6 seed, putting them in a good position to possibly make it out in the top three.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Fans traveled from all over Florida on Saturday night to enjoy what promised to be a spectacular night of derby as the WFTDA #11 Arch Rival Roller Girls faced off against #9 Jacksonville RollerGirls followed by both leagues’ brother teams, the MRDA #2 St. Louis GateKeepers taking on the #12 Magic City Misfits.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The sixth annual Midwest BrewHaHa consisted of 43 games, 17 women’s leagues, 8 men’s leagues, 2 tracks, and 1 junior game. Lots of derby was packed into 3 days, resulting in some upsets, some blowouts, and some exciting results. Here are some of the highlights that will take these teams into the end of the “regular season”, including the #1 women’s team, and #2 men’s team.

The dates for the 7th annual Midwest BrewHaHa have already been announced, and it will take place on June 3rd-5th, 2016. Nearly two-dozen photographers made it to Brew this year, and you can see highlights of their shots on BrewHaHa’s Facebook page, or full albums as they post them.

ST. PETERS, MO– The final day of the “Skate To Thrill” Invitational saw the highest-ranked and lowest-ranked WFTDA leagues participating net three-game sweeps, and the continuation of the competitiveness that was found in Day One.

(ST. PETERS, MO) Day One of the second annual Skate to Thrill invitational at Matteson Square Gardens lived up to its namesake. Highlights of the day included the Arch Rival’s dominant win over Arizona, the lowest-ranked league posting a pair of upsets and a plethora of hard-charging efforts from teams looking to gain traction in the rankings.
