PORTLAND, OR – To start off Saturday play in Portland, OR, 5th ranked London Brawling took on 8th ranked Arch Rival Roller Derby All-Stars. The two teams had yet to meet, but Arch Rival would put on an unexpected show of strength, initially belying their respective rankings, by leading for the first 12 minutes of the game and mounting a great end of game rally. But it just wasn’t enough to keep London from taking the win, 197-94.

MADISON, WI – The final game Saturday night in Madison essentially came down to a jammer duel between #2 Arch Rival Roller Derby and #3 Minnesota RollerGirls. The well-matched teams spent much of the game within striking distance from one another, and despite a scare late in the first period that saw Arch Rival leading for three jams, Minnesota kept victory just out of reach for Arch Rival with a final score of 174-155.

The WFTDA had released its first rankings update since Championships, and as of November 30th, 2015 it’s not really surprising that Gotham is still #1 even though they suffered their first loss in 5 years at the hands of Rose City. Since a team’s ranking is comprised of an average of points earned from 12 months of games, things can take awhile to change as more games are played. (For more information, go here for the rankings white papers.)

Here are some highlights of where things lay now in the top 100 ranked teams compared to January.
