The Big O Tournament has been a platform for WFTDA, MRDA, and Junior roller derby teams to hit the track since 2011. In 2017 there are 16 WFTDA teams, 9 MRDA, and 4 junior teams in Eugene, Oregon from four different continents.

Green are WFTDA sanctioned games, purple are WFTDA B teams, blue is MRDA games, and yellow are the junior games. Each game is linked with its archived video.

Coming up this weekend: the annual Big O Invitational in Eugene, Oregon (USA). While there have already been a few high-level tournaments already this season, this has become one of the most highly anticipated WFTDA Recognized Tournaments since it’s the first time we see many of the top-ranked teams back on the track each year.

There will be a few exciting rematches from last year, some new teams to watch, and plenty of roller derby on three tracks for three days. Are you ready?

Alongside the women’s action that will be showcased at the seventh annual “Big O” invitational that launches this Friday in Eugene, Oregon, a baker’s dozen duels sanctioned by the Men’s Roller Derby Association (MRDA) will be featured. Within the mix of the nine leagues appearing are five factions that competed at last year’s MRDA finale, “Lone Star Showdown,” including the current two-time defending title-holder.

March kicked off the 2017 Roller Derby season with multiple tournaments giving us a glimpse at the trajectory for a handful of teams. The majority of major movement in the March WFTDA rankings were from teams outside of Division 1, however, there was one slight, but major rankings change at the top.

Here’s a look at how last month’s games affected WFTDA rankings and a brief look at what’s to come in April.

This weekend there are three major roller derby tournaments happening on three different continents, each consisting of teams that fall into different sections of the WFTDA rankings. The Tomodachi Derby Tournament is happening over three days in Okinawa, EuroClash in Europe, and Skate to Thrill in the United States.
